Carrier Dome

I was clicking around on The OC Show Dot Com and I came across this photo of Rachel Bilson sporting a cute Carrier Dome bippy shirt. I'm sorry but this is very incredibly sexy to me. I wonder if she got the shirt at a Syracuse Orangemen basketball game?

Didn't someone here mention Anne Hathaway the other day? Well check dis out, pervs.

After another 1-2 week in the NFL I'm thinking of taking a week off and solely concentrating on College FB.

I'm ONCE AGAIN going to ride the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+3) at Purdue. .

My other picks are LSU (-14.5) at Mississippi St, but only because they're one of Colin Cowherd's Locks of the Week (ND is the other). I'm pretty sure he is undefeated in his College Football Best Bets so far this year. And USC (-16.5) at Ariz St. Some people are saying this is going to be close but no one has been within 20 pts of USC in like 10 games.

The Fighting Irish

It's great to see ND competitive again. I hope they give USC a good match. In any event, check this classic story out where Charlie Weis granted a dying kid his last wish, seriously. What a story.

Ron Mexico in Town

The Bills need a win, or at the very least a good showing tomorrow against the Dirty Falcons. Now, I don't like to see any players get hurt but if Sam Adams falls on Vick's hammy and he limps off I will most likely be cheering like a lunatic tomorrow. Anyway, I'm calling on a Bills victory, however I am staying 1 million miles away from that bet thank you very much, the Bills are favored -3... Here are my picks of the week that involve currency:

Patriots (+3) over the STEELERS - I don't see the N.E. losing two in a row, and as Bill Simmons so acurately pointed out the Steelers were "crushed nine months ago" at home against the Patriots.

Saints (+4) over the VIKINGS - The Vikes might be D-O-N-E.

BEARS (+3) over Bengals - I could be very wrong on this one, but I think Cincy is due for a let down and the Bears are not as awful as I thought they were going to be after two weeks.

For the year I am 4-10 - ATS - I need to be 2-1 this week.

The Journey of 1000 miles

starts with favorites covering in week 3. Week 2: 1-4 (overall: 3-6). Ouch. And we're off:

carolina -3 over MIAMI
SAN DIEGO -5 1/2 over ny giants
INDY -13 1/2 over cleveland

If I don't give you any winners, hopefully you can enjoy these pictures of Ann Hathaway (just give them a chance) courtesy of fubar.

Thanks,
Pete Axthelm

Open Field Tackle

This is what happens when you combine a Bills season opener victory with 14 Coors Lights a few shots of Crown Royal and the hot hot sun. You should all feel very sorry for my poor girlfriend. Not only did I ridicule her in front of the entire tailgate but I now post a picture on the internet for the world to see. Thank you Todd for capturing this romantic moment.

Video cameras should be BANNED from Weddings

The President of the United States of America.

A nicely written article informing us about Erin Andrews, who "studies her fanny off" to prepare for the big games. Uh-Wow!

By the way, spend all of your $$ right now. Because if you have any left by the weekend, and you view my NFL picks in an attempt to increase your net worth, you will lose it.

Lactose Intolerant

Lets all forget about the performance by the Bills in Tampa this weekend. We'll get the Dirty Falcons Sunday at the Ralph. Let us also forget my horrible two weeks of the NFL gambling season. If it were not for the miracle win by the Redskins last night I would have gone a pitiful 1 for 6. Ouch.

At least we got a pennant race in the AL East. 1/2 game out and Big Game Aaron Small on the hill tonight.

Use Monopoly Money This Week

The NFL games seem very, very difficult this week. Coming off our week one spilt (2-2 ATS), we are back shooting for mediocrity in Week 2. Take this advice at your own risk:

new england -3 over CAROLINA
baltimore -4 over TENNESSEE
GREEN BAY -61/2 over cleveland
CHICAGO +2 over detriot

Monday night special: DALLAS -6 over washington.

Even looking at these picks now, I can't really stand too strongly behind any of them. Who wagers money on the Chicago Bears? Anyway, enjoy your Sunday.

And finally, a funny picture of our new favorite gal Erin Andrews and an AM sports radio fan.

Favorite Sideline Reporter

Another football weekend. Today I'll be taking Notre Dame (-6 1/2) again over Michigan St. I also like Florida (-7) over Tennessee. As for the NFL I have no idea. I'm so very glad I didn't do a survivor pool this year, I'd already be out. I just read Simmons' column for some insight on picks and I'm confused as ever.

On a quick side note has anyone else noticed that no one in the national media is saying anything about the Bills? Well, accept for foxsports.com who has the Bills / Bucs as its game of the week and the Bills NUMBER THREE!!! in their Power Rankings. Even I think that's a little extreme at this point.

Anyway Simmons does not mention the Bills once in his NFL column and has Tampa covering in his weekly picks.

Some great baseball on last night. The Yankees Jays game was crazy. Good signs: the Yankees offense is firing on all cylinders (lead of course by your AL MVP - A-ROD), they are winning close games, and Rivera is once again unhitable. Bad signs is the rest of their bullpen is still awful and Randy Johnson is no longer Randy Johnson. What the hell is he doing getting kicked out of a game at this point in the season????

The Red Sox A's game was great too despite the Red Sox winning it in the 11th. I have to admit that Ortiz is the most dangerous hitter in the majors right now, he hit another one last night, but I definitely don't think he deserves the MVP over A-Rod who has just as good numbers if not better and has played a gold glove third base all season long. Tom Verducci has a great article on the subject.

The best thing about the Red Sox a's game had to be the 9 times they flashed to ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews. Definitely my favorite sideline reporter. Since I was at a bar and they had the sound turned down I have no idea why they went to her every inning - I'm not complaining mind you - but she was wearing a very cute pink hat and is very very very very sexy.

I actually had to join a Yahoo Group dedicated to her for photos. In this photo it looks like she is on the way to the ladies room to freshen up a bit. Yes, I am a complete perv.

Finally, here is a good read about Kate Moss doing a ton of coke.

Where Have You Gone Rudy Boesch?

Survivor Guatemala begins tonight. I have not watched a Survivor since the All Stars got together, whenever Richard Hatch is involved I will be tuned in. Anyway, my friend Adam is still very much into the Survivor series, here are some random emails that he sent today regarding his opinions on who will turn into the hot Survivors that we will all root for to go all the way:

Adam On Danni or Brianna:
"Danni or Brianna, I can't decide. Danni is a sports radio talkshow host. I
think I would have more in common with the gay guy. Considering Danni is a
sports nut I think I'm going to have to go with Brianna. There I said it.
Dibbs!!"

More Adam on Danni and Brianna:
"I think Danni knows how hot she is whereas Brianna might be a little self
consious about her skin. I'll just show her my backne and that will make
her feel better."

I thought I would get into the discussion because I needed something to do to get me through the morning:

Me to Adam:
"What about Brooke or Morgan? Brooke's favorite alcoholic drinks are
Bud Light, Merlot, and Chianti"

Adam's response to me:
"Morgan is a magicians assistant. You know that magician is burying that
magic wand wherever it will fit. Besides Morgan is a dogs name. Brooke is
a law student. The last thing I want on Survivor island is an empowered
woman. I just don't get any vibe from those girls"

Classic.

Number 1 or 2?

Hot Babes, Former Hot Babe, and More Football

So it looks like my favorite movie actress may be engaged to some dude named CASH and Britney had her kid. I remember it like yesterday when my friend Adam Knobes chose Britney as the chick he most wanted to walk into 67 West with. Oh well, as long as I have April Scott pictures I will survive.

The first Bills tailgate was a great time, I concur with Lando. Beautiful day, the opening NFL Sunday, the excitement and unknowns of this years Bills with a brand new QB, and lots of beer. The Bills came out looking like they can do some damage but as The Wolf says in Pulp Fiction says lets not start sucking each other C's just yet. Tampa Bay on the road should be a good test.

As for my weekly wagers I ended up 1 for 1 in college (Ohio St blew the parlay I had with ND) and 2 for 5 in the NFL, ouch. This weeks games are even tougher.

"I want to be credited as a Miami Beach police office"

I'm really upset/amused by this story - is Shaq serious???

Reminds you of Elvis visiting President Nixon to get his DEA badge.

FANTASY FOOTBALL ASIDE (sort of):

By the way, remember when Brett Favre basically forced Javon Walker to end his "hold-out" and get back to camp. I think Walker is making like $500K/year...Favre owes him some cash now I think after he blew his knee out.

Was Jessica Simpson at the FTIT tailgate? She doesn't look well here.

Lots of athletes seem to be going with the moustache lately. I am all for that. Here is Joe Montana from years ago - lookin' good Joe!

On The Road Again

The NFL Season kicks off tomorrow. Tune in here each week for several sure-fire winners against the spread (unless of course they are losers which will happen a great deal of the time). In any event, The BonaFriar will keep a nice running total so you can follow our handicapping from the sidelines all season long. Without further ado:

Cincy -3 1/2 over CLEVELAND
KC -3 over ny jets
st louis -6 over SAN FRAN
philly -1 over ATL

That's 3 road favorites. First week of the NFL, some say its the easiest week to pick 'em, some say the toughest. Who cares. Enjoy your Sunday.

Barfly

Buffalo Barfly is out of control, it has more adds for Buffalo nightlife stuff than you can imaging. It still does catch random attractive former softball teammates partying down at 67 West though.

I also have to apologize for not mentioning the Danny and Melinda appearance at the Buffalo Wingfest this past weekend. The famous Gary Sengbusch was responsible for getting the Real World superstars to Buffalo and he did ask for a shout out which I forgot. It was his mistake asking me to do this when I was drunk though. Anyway here are some pics from it.

I Love Football

We are about 24 hours away from some real live NFL football, yeah bitch. I love all four major sports (I still have to categorize hockey as a major sport because Bflo has an NHL team and I would be yelled at by the diehard hockey fans of Buffalo if I dismissed it) but I do not get nearly as excited about the beginning of a sports season like I do football. It is not even close. So with tomorrow night the beginning of the football season, and the Bills season opener on Sunday here are my Bills predictions and my NFL playoff / superbowl predictions.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I pray to the lord Jesus H. Christ JP learns to slide by Sunday

Ok, for the Bills I am going with 10 - 6 and a wildcard playoff berth. I admit to being the most optimistic Bills fan in Buffalo, but the Bills defense is going to be one of the best in the league and McGahee will have a huge year (1500 yds and 15 TDS). Its going to be a rollercoaster ride with JP, but I think he will be good enough to not kill them - if that makes any sense. Peter King thinks the Bills will be a wild card team as well, so I am not alone and completely crazy. Peter King rocks.

On with the predictions. I think the Patriots will win the East, although they will not be nearly as dominant as the past few years. The Chargers will win the West, the Steelers will win the North, and the Colts win the South easily. I like the Ravens despite Kyle Boller as your other AFC Wild Card team.

The Colts FINALLY beat the Patriots for the AFC Championship.

In the NFC I like the Eagles, Rams, Vikings, and Panthers to win their divisions. And the Packers and Falcons as your wildcards. I think the Eagles beat the Panthers to go back to the Superbowl and lose to the Colts. The Eagles will be compared to the 90's Bills. Peyton Manning is the best QB ever and blah blah blah. These are my fearless prediction.

I'm thinking I will also use this here blog to share with you my weekly wagers I make on football. At least I will do this until I get too lazy or start losing really badly. Anyway I am looking at the Patriots (-7 1/2) over the Raiders tomorrow night. I do hope this is a high scoring game in which Randy Moss catches 12 balls for 200 yards and 3 td's for fantasy purposes, and it is tough to root for the Patriots, but I see them winning easily over the Raiders. I'm also liking the Rams (-6 1/2) over the 49ers and the Vikings (6 1/2) at home over the Bucs. The Bills are -6 at home over the Texans which is intriguing but I am going to try and follow the rule to never ever bet for or against the Bills.

In closing it warms my heart to see Jessica Alba leaving a Taco Shop with a big bag of food.
