I've posted a few times about how exciting it is to finally have a young QB behind center for the Bills this upcoming year. Well armed with the power of Liquid Courage I struck up a conversation with J.P. Losman and Josh Stamer at our favorite watering hole Colter Bay last night. Talked to both of them for about 15 minutes. Both guys were very cool, they went with the company line: "love buffalo, the people are great, the weather sucks though, blah blah blah." But, both of them genuinely seemed to mean it. I'm not sure if J.P. appreciated me telling him not to break his leg this Training Camp, or he better not end up like Rob Johnson, but what can you do I had 13 drinks in me by that point. Anyway I can not freakin wait for FOOTBALL.

Back in BFLO

The Vegas vacation was cut short due to a sick gf. That's right I am back in Buff. I will miss stumbling drunk into the Excalibur poker room and donating $100.00 to those less fortunate and more sober than I. The highlight of the trip was my sober 8th place finish in a No Limit Hold Em' tournament at the Alladin Wednesday afternoon. And no, there were not only 8 people in the entire tournament. There were actually 82 and I finsihed in the money, biatch. I am quitting my job packing up all my belongings and going out to Vegas to take on Hellmuth, Lederer, Brunson and Chan.

From what I have heard Bona Friar would have been all over this one back at Bona; link via Thighs.

Spent last night at Mandalay Bay. So far it is in the lead for best overall casino I've been to. They had a friggin GREAT buffet. Amazingly hot babes, and an enormous Sports Book that is right now in the lead for places to watch the opening rounds of the NCAA's. I ended up dropping $101.00 in a 4 hour session of a 4-8 Texas Hold 'Em game. Which isn't bad since A. I played for a really long time, B. I drank 10 Miller Lights for free, C. poker is FUN.

Happy Parade Day ya'll I will really miss freezing my ass off on the corner of Delaware and Allen sipping blue lights. Really I will, but I'm in Vegas right now (where it is 70 and sunny) and will be for the next week. So far I've hit the Hard Rock (tons of hot BABES), MGM Grand, New York New York, and Excalibur. Played some hold em for a few hours at Excalibur (which is dump compared to the casinos I've been to so far) and came out even. oh yeah, I've seen 4 or 5 Elvis and their is a wedding chapel outside of my hotel room.

Ok so I ran across this after doing a google search of, "bill simmons poker", more in a sec on why I was doing a search on bill simmons poker. Anyway, Theo Von of Road Rules III and most recently Road Rules / Real World Challenges fame writes an open letter on a Reality TV chat board to Bill Simmons scolding him for ‘making fun of a bunch of young adults’. I’m watching “The Last Waltz” the classic Scorsese film that chronicles the last concert of The Band, and holy mackerel what a great movie. They start by telling you THIS FILM SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD! Martin Scorsese has a freaky jet black beard and strange 70’s hair. Fucking legends like Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Neil Diamond (who is fucking sweet) make appearances as well.

The direction is classic Scorsese. The music is fucking awesome. You almost feel like you’re on stage with these kookie canucks. It is also fucking cool as a shit that fucking legends like Neil Young (another cookie kanuck) says shit like, “It is one of the pleasures of life to be able to be on stage with these people” (THE BAND). And if that doesn’t get you all hot and bothered read Amazon.com’s take on Robbie Robertson, “Robbie Robertson, whose sleepy-sexy good looks make a star-caliber impression in close-up. BUY IT, GODDAMIT. By the way I’m going as Dr. John for Halloween next year.

Ok, back to why I was looking up "bill simmons poker". I'll be flying to Vegas tomorrow and I am going to hit the Texas No Limit Hold Em tables. I remember Simmons answering a question about where he prefers to play poker. Looks like by the end of tomorrow both Jonas Jennings and Pat Williams will no longer be Bills according to this link. Heavy set Len Pasquarelli confirms, he has both of them on other teams. He also does not foresee the Bills signing ANY top FA's. ESPN.com - Top 32 free agents.
I do not mind them letting go of Jennings, he is injury prone and will be overpaid wherever he goes. But I hope they can keep Williams. He is old yes, but who will replace him, Tim Anderson, Ron Edwards? Like I have said before if the Bills want to contend next year, they need to keep their defense intact. As much of a hardon that I have for J.P. I think he will struggle at time and will need the D to bail him out.
