Vegas Trip Recap and The 2005 Buffalo Gangbangers
Well I survived Sin City for the 3rd time of 2005. The
The next day we got up pretty early and Stan and I entered into the Golden Nugget's 11am NL Poker tourney. Since this post is already waaay to long I will shorten up the tournament recap by saying that out of 60 players I made it down to the final two and chopped the pot with an old English guy named Bob. We split $3200. Nice. So my first 18 hours in Vegas definitely did not suck and I am proud to say that I have cashed in both tournaments I have played in Vegas. Anyone who would like to sponsor my $10,000 entry fee in next years WSOP is more than welcome.
After my victorious poker tournament win I was on a mission to get as shit faced as possible and did so the rest of the weekend. Geoff, Stan, and I headed down to Mandalay Bay to meet the rest of the crew and I started to do my best impression of Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas. Drank and gambled all Friday night at Mandalay Bay. Slept for 4 hours. Saturday afternoon drank and gambled at Luxor, then down at the Wynn. Went back to Mandalay to change to go out for the night. We ended up making a few bad decisions after that hitting a lounge at Excalibur, because one of the single horny guys we were with (Murat) heard that horny chicks who just saw Thunder From Down Under (I refuse to link to this) would be there. Well lets say there were lots of overweight nasty chicks. Only my buddy Lips wanted to stay. After that we ended up making another blunder by heading to see Bikini Bullriding (yes, you read that right) at The New Frontier. I have never seen more Stetsons in my entire life. Only my buddy Greene wanted to stay there. We finally decided to go down to the Hard Rock, which was the only good decision of the night. Somewhere along the way I lost my camera, so no pictures unfortunately, hopefully Stan has a few good ones.
Sunday was the draft, yours truly had the 12th pick. I ended up with Julius Jones, and Randy Moss with my first two picks. I ended up getting Antonio Gates and Andre Johnson in rounds 4 and 5. Rounds 5 and 6 were ugly, I blame it on the booze. Bottom line on my draft, I am screwed at RB other than Jones unless either Travis Henry or Cedric Benson come up big. Henry may, but the Bears are going to BLOW HARD and Benson probably won't do much. Oh well. At least I get to root for Lee Evans who I got pretty late. The rest of Sunday was pretty much alcohol free, I played in a $2-$4 game at Mandalay Bay where half the table literally never played hold em' before. I ended up a little bit, but was too tired to take advantage. Just about all of us passed out early Sunday, and Monday I was on my way back to reality. Four night in Vegas is tough. Now if you will excuse me I am on my way to get a blood transfusion.
