And so it begins
With the new salary cap in place in the NHL the buy out of overpaid players begins. The Flyers start the party by buying out contracts of LeClair, and Amonte. This is a good time to be a Sabres fan, the fact that they anticipated this (the creation of a salary cap) over a year ago and have concentrated on signing and keeping young talent at low costs will give them a major jump start. Some of the new rules will take some getting used to, but the simple fact that they are trying to fix a broken unpopular sport finally is encouraging. And since the Bills only play September to December usually, having the Sabres competitive is a MUST in a town with no other major sports franchises and a weak College Sports scene.
